Mr. O'Malley, Mr. T. O'Donnell

andMr. Coughlan asked the Minister for Education what branches of technology the proposed Institute of Higher Technology in Limerick will cater for.

As announced on 2nd January, 1969, the Higher Education Authority has been asked to advise on the nature of the third-level institution which is to be established in Limerick and the details of the courses to be provided there. Until I have received and considered the recommendations of the Authority I am not in a position to make any further statement on these two matters.

andMr. Coughlan asked the Minister for Education whether the purchase of the land for the proposed third-level institute in Limerick has been completed.

The purchase of land for the third-level institution at Limerick has not yet been completed. A site is under consideration.
