Vol. 238 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sanctioning of Arbitration Awards.

22.

andMr. Corry asked the Minister for Health the reason for the delay in sanctioning arbitration awards made some months ago to officials of the Cork Health Authority; and the earliest date on which sanction will be forthcoming.

Deputies will be aware of the recent Government decision to set up a review body to advise them on remuneration in the upper ranges in the public sector and, in the meantime, to defer action on awards recommended under the scheme of conciliation and arbitration for local authority officers.

My decision on awards recommended for certain officers of the Cork Health Authority has been postponed for this reason but, of course, the appropriate "11th Round" increases are payable in the meantime.

It is expected that the review body will be set up very shortly and that its recommendations will be available at an early date.
