Vol. 238 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Irish Driving Licences.

20.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he has had any further discussions with the British authorities in regard to full recognition of Irish driving licences; and if he will indicate the present position.

There have been no formal discussions. The present position is that there are no reciprocal arrangements between nations for the recognition of domestic driving licences except in the case of temporary visitors. I do not foresee any change occurring in this situation for some time to come.
