Vol. 238 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sligo Industrial Estate.

57.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he can now indicate if Sligo will get a major industrial estate.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply to a question (No. 62) in Dáil Éireann on 13th February, 1969, concerning the possibility of providing an industrial estate in another named area.

Does the Minister not agree that an industrial estate is needed in Sligo and that this Party has been pressing for that for at least five years? Can the Minister not stop being so dilatory and come down on one side of the fence or the other: will Sligo get one or will Fianna Fáil not give it?

I think the people of Sligo are well aware of what the situation is and will be shortly well aware of what is happening in Sligo. I admire Deputy Donegan's attempt to cash in on it, but I do not think it will help him.

How can the Minister call "cashing in" something I have been advocating for five years and can prove from the records of the House.

We shall see.

The Minister cannot cash in on that one himself.
