asked the Minister for Local Government the number of houses classified as unfit for human habitation by Dublin Corporation in 1968.

Statistics of the operations of local authorities in relation to unfit and dangerous dwellings are collected by my Department on a financial year basis. Returns submitted to the Department by Dublin Corporation show that in the year ended on the 31st March, 1968, closing orders were made by them, under section 66 of the Housing Act, 1966, in respect of 18 unfit dwellings and that dangerous building notices were served by them, under section 3 of the Local Government (Sanitary Services) Act, 1964, in relation to 359 dwellings.

asked the Minister for Local Government the number of new houses provided by Dublin Corporation in 1968; and the number planned for completion in 1969.

1,880 new dwellings were provided by Dublin Corporation in 1968.

The corporation expect to complete a total of 2,893 new dwellings in 1969.
