asked the Minister for Education what proposals there are for the improvement, reconstruction or replacement of national schools in County Westmeath.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 49 and 50 together, and to circulate, for inclusion in the Official Report, statements giving in tabular form the information requested by the Deputy.

In addition there are other schools at which improvements are proposed or being carried out under the arrangement sanctioned in a Circular Letter issued by my Department in September 1967 authorising Managers to undertake, without prior consultation with my Department, urgently required improvements to national schools.
