Vol. 238 No. 16

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Waterford Estate.

98.

asked the Minister for Lands the reason for the delay in dividing the Headborough estate, Knockanore, County Waterford.

The Land Commission are anxious to have this estate divided as quickly as possible and, as indicated in the replies to previous questions by the Deputy, it was hoped that at least part of the lands would be included in the current year's allocation programme. Some local restructuring and rearrangement is contemplated but difficulties have been encountered in framing a balanced scheme of settlement—and progress is necessarily slow and tedious. I can assure the Deputy, however, that the case is receiving full attention and every effort will be made to formulate resale proposals with the minimum delay. In fact, an inspector is at present pursuing inquiries on the ground.
