Vol. 239 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Local Councils.

28.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he proposes to amend Part V of the Local Government Act, 1955, to enable Dún Laoghaire Corporation to recognise clubs and other organisations as approved local councils, as provided by the provisions of that part of the Act.

I have no immediate proposals for an amendment on the lines indicated of the law relating to approved local councils. The matter has, however, been noted for consideration in conjunction with any future revisions of the general legislation relating to the powers of local authorities.
