asked the Minister for Social Welfare the number of man hours lost due to illness by insurable workers in the latest year for which figures are available.

The precise information sought by the Deputy is not available. However, the number of days lost through illness in the 1967 benefit year, the latest for which figures are available, based on claims for disability benefit by insured workers was approximately 17,066,000.
