Vol. 239 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Statement on Emigration.

1.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state, with reference to the recent statement by the Minister for Labour to the effect that emigration will always continue, if this view is representative of the attitude of the Government towards this problem.

If the Deputy had studied the Minister's statement he would have seen that the Minister expressed the view that, even in conditions of full employment, there would be some voluntary emigration. This view was endorsed by the National Industrial Economic Council in their Report on Full Employment.
