Vol. 239 No. 5

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - County Waterford School.

62.

asked the Minister for Education when work is likely to commence on the erection of a new national school at Newtown, Ballymacarberry, County Waterford.

A site has been approved of by the Commissioners of Public Works for the erection of the proposed new central school at Newtown. The manager has been authorised to employ a private architect to prepare sketch plans for the new building.

The arrangements in regard to the erection of the school have not yet reached a stage when it would be possible to say when building work will commence. I will ensure, however, that everything possible will be done both in my Department and in the Office of Public Works to hasten the commencement of the building operations.
