Vol. 239 No. 5

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Price of Petrol.

79.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he has sanctioned an increase in the price of petrol; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have not approved of any increase in the price of petrol, but, as indicated in reply to a question on 6th March, a proposal for an increase in the retail price is under examination in my Department.

May I ask how long it takes to sanction or to make a decision? I do not want it sanctioned at all. I want to know, can the Minister take a decision? I hope he will take the right decision. About how long does it take to make a decision?

In this case about three years.

Question No. 80.
