Vol. 239 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Jumbo Jet Services.

4.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power when the jumbo jet services are likely to commence; and what airports in this country they will operate to and from.

I understand that some airlines are expected to begin operating jumbo jet aircraft in December, 1969, or early in 1970. Regular transatlantic services to Ireland using Shannon Airport are expected in the summer of 1970. Aer Lingus expect to introduce the new aircraft on the Dublin-Shannon route about April, 1971.
