Vol. 239 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Pay-off of Galway and Clare Forestry Workers.

83.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware of the impending pay-off of men engaged in forestry work in Woodford, County Galway and in North Clare; and if there is any prospect of offering alternative employment to those involved.

The content of work available at two forests in the Woodford area is insufficient to keep the existing numbers employed and it has been necessary to reduce staffs.

There is no prospect of offering alternative forestry work to those disemployed.
