asked the Taoiseach the total amount of debt due by all State or semi-State bodies and other boards or bodies under the aegis of his Department on 31st March, 1969; and the cost of servicing it.

I refer the Deputy to the reply given to similar questions on 15th February, 1967, 31st January, 1968, 15th May, 1968 and 27th March, 1969.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power the total amount of debt due by all State or semi-State bodies and other boards or bodies under the aegis of his Department on 31st March, 1969; and the cost of servicing it.

The latest available date for which the information is available in the case of all State bodies under the aegis of my Department is 31st March, 1968, except in the case of the British and Irish Steampacket Company Ltd., where the latest available date is 31st December, 1968.

The position as at 31st March, 1968 (B & I Company as at 31st December, 1967) was given in reply to a question by the Deputy on 4th February, 1969. In the case of the B & I Company, the total amount of debt due on 31st December, 1968, was £5,590,814 and the cost of servicing it during that year was £85,611.
