101.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the total amount of debt due by all State or semi-State bodies, and other boards or bodies under the aegis of his Department on 31st March, 1969; and the cost of servicing it.

The position is as indicated in the reply to the similar question from the Deputy on Wednesday, 15th May, last.

102.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the total amount of debt due by all State or semi-State bodies, and other boards or bodies under the aegis of his Department on 31st March, 1969; and the cost of servicing it.

The information as on 31st March, 1969, is as yet available in the case of only two bodies. The total amount of debt of these two at the 31st March, 1969, and of the other bodies concerned at the latest available date in each case was £11,273,028 11s of which £8,969,207 represents repayable advances from the Exchequer. The cost of servicing this debt in the latest year in each case was £703,280 11s.

103.

asked the Minister for Health the total amount of debt due by all State or semi-State bodies and other boards or bodies under the aegis of his Department on 31st March, 1969; and the cost of servicing it.

As stated in my replies to similar questions on earlier occasions, the latest being the 27th March, 1969, the bodies with which I am concerned receive support in the form of grant from my Department and, except by way of temporary bank overdraft, the question of borrowing does not arise.

104.

asked the Minister for Lands the total amount of debt due by all State or semi-State bodies, and other boards or bodies under the aegis of his Department on 31st March, 1969; and the cost of servicing it.

There are no such boards or bodies under the aegis of the Department of Lands.
