Vol. 239 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Correspondence References.

14.

asked the Minister for Finance if, having regard to the frequency with which Government Departments fail to quote correspondents' references, he will again remind all public servants of the desirability that they should do to others as they wish others to do to them; and if he will ensure that where printed stereotyped forms for replies are being ordered that mention is made and space provided for inclusion of correspondents' references.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply to a similar question asked by him on 19th June, 1968.

Is the Minister aware that many sections of his Department and of the Revenue Commissioners are not quoting references to correspondence even where the references are quoted in the initial letter to the Minister's Department?

I am not so aware but I will look into the matter.

I shall send the Minister a sample or two.
