Vol. 239 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Turnover Tax.

15.

asked the Minister for Finance (a) the total amount collected for the year ended 31st March, 1969 from turnover tax and (b) the total amount collected to 31st March, 1969 from this tax.

The total net receipt from turnover tax for the year ended 31st March, 1969, was £17,884,000 approximately.

The total net receipt from turnover tax from 1st November, 1963 to 31st March, 1969, was £80,189,000 approximately.

We should have an easy Budget, now that we have so much money. The Minister got £17 million from that tax.

I might call in the Deputy for consultation.

We should now have an easier Budget than the British one.
