Vol. 239 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - College of Surgical Chiropody.

40.

asked the Minister for Health if he will now recognise the College of Surgical Chiropody of Ireland for the purpose of appointment to positions in the health services of this country in view of the fact that the standards of the college are at least equal to similar British chiropodist institutions which are recognised by him in Ireland.

I have not recognised any British chiropodist college whose training consists mainly of a correspondence course with only a fortnight's practical instruction.

I do not intend to recognise the qualifications of the College of Surgical Chiropody of Ireland as sufficient for appointment to health authority posts.
