Vol. 239 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Clonmel (Tipperary) Car Parks.

25.

asked the Minister for Local Government the present position in relation to the proposal for the provision of car parks at West Gate and Mary Street, Clonmel, County Tipperary, submitted to him by Clonmel Corporation; and whether in view of the urgent need for the car parks he will now sanction the proposal.

There are no proposals from Clonmel Corporation for the provision of car parks before my Department. A proposal by the corporation to acquire a site at the rear of O'Connell Street/Mary Street, for use as a car park was approved on 28th June, 1968. The corporation were invited to submit their proposals for financing the project but have not done so to date.
