Vol. 239 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sligo Industrial Estate.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is aware of the urgency of siting a major industrial estate at Sligo which satisfies all the criteria essential for the establishment of such an estate, in order to stem the tide of emigration and to create employment opportunities, not only for unskilled and skilled labourers, but also for small farmers; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The selection of development centres at which further industrial estates will be established must await consideration of the Buchanan Report and the Government's decision regarding future overall policy in relation to the provision of additional industrial estates.
