Vol. 239 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Afforestation.

43.

asked the Minister for Lands if more land will be made available to the Forestry Branch for planting in the Blackwater areas of Sneem, Caherciveen, Glenbeigh, Glencar and other areas where a large number of men were laid off; and if he will allocate more money for the purchase of such lands in the coming year.

In County Kerry, as elsewhere in the country, every effort is being made to acquire additional land for afforestation. The funds available for the acquisition of land are more than adequate to meet any demand and the Forestry Division of my Department would welcome additional offers of suitable lands.
