Vol. 240 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Talks on Six Counties.

1.

asked the Taoiseach whether he has any information on the date of his forthcoming visit to Mr. Wilson to discuss the situation in the Six Counties.

A definite date for the meeting has not yet been fixed.

Would the Taoiseach agree that, with the removal of Captain O'Neill and the likelihood of a more rigid hardline Prime Minister in Stormont, there is a new urgency for such a meeting?

Further inquiries have been made about the date.

I assume that the Taoiseach's visit will not now be until after there is a meeting between the new Prime Minister and the British Prime Minister?

I cannot offer an opinion on that.

There would not be much point in meeting Mr. Wilson after Captain O'Neill's visit to him. It would be better to wait until after the new Prime Minister is elected.

I do not know if Captain O'Neill will go to see Mr. Wilson at all now.

According to today's radio news report——

I did not hear the radio today.
