Vol. 240 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

35.

asked the Minister for Local Government if his Department have sent out approval to Kerry County Council for the extension of the Killorglin water scheme to Ballykissane and Ballymacprior.

This scheme has not been included by Kerry County Council in their list of priorities for proposed water supply schemes and it has not been approved by my Department.

36.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that the preliminary report on the Dunkineely sewerage scheme, County Donegal was submitted to his Department on the 8th February, 1966; and, if so, when he will approve same.

On the latest information available to me this scheme is not regarded by Donegal County Council as having a high priority in their water and sewerage programme.

37.

asked the Minister for Local Government if any plans have been submitted to him for a sewerage scheme in the Ross Road, Enniscorthy area by the local authority; and, if so, if he has given sanction to such a scheme.

No such plans have been received in my Department.

38.

asked the Minister for Local Government the present position in relation to the development of the Dublin south city drainage scheme so that industrial sites in the Ballyfermot industrial area can be serviced and developed.

I understand that the local authority are doing everything possible to expedite this scheme.

The local authority being duly and democratically elected——

——are doing everything possible. They will make more progress now that the obstructionist element are gone.

We will deal with that tomorrow afternoon.

(Interruptions.)

I should like the Minister to ensure that there is no sabotage in the provision of this drainage scheme for south Dublin such as there was in the Dublin Corporation by the Labour and Fine Gael members?

Let us hope the scheme will make more progress now.
