Vol. 240 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Donegal Boat Slip.

20.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries the present position relating to the boat slip at Fanny's Bay, Downings, County Donegal; what future proposals he has for the further development of this boat slip; and if he is aware of the great need for this service.

I have already arranged to have the position at Fanny's Bay, Downings, County Donegal, investigated by the survey team which I set up to make an appraisal of fishing ports and landing facilities required on the County Donegal coast in the interests of the sea fishing industry. Until I receive and consider the team's report, which I expect soon, I cannot say what improvement works may be approved for Fanny's Bay.

Can the Minister tell us when this investigation team visited Downings?

Sorry, I do not have the diary of their movements.

Will the Minister have the grace to say how grateful he is to me for having reopened Fanny's Bay after his Government had closed it down?

There is no water there at the moment.

Is the Minister telling the House that he is not up to date with the details of the needs of his own constituency?

The Deputy should not ask that question.

Is this confirmation that the Minister is seeking a seat in Dublin?

There is no hope for the Deputy in that.
