Vol. 240 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Gort (Galway) Road Signs.

10.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that road signs have been erected at Gort, County Galway which carry incorrect translations; and when they will be replaced by signs which will have the proper translation of names.

These signs have been provided by Bord Fáilte Éireann. I understand that the version of the place name used is, in accordance with the practice of the Bord, that recommended by An Coimisiún Um Logainmneacha but that, following representations already made to them, the Bord are re-examining the matter in consultation with the Coimisiún.
