Vol. 240 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Mountcharles (Donegal) Telephone Service.

7.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware that there are over forty telephone subscribers in Mountcharles, County Donegal; and, if so, if he will have a 24 hour service provided for them.

The introduction of a 24-hour service at Mountcharles exchange which has 34 subscribers is not warranted at present. A number of subscribers have continuous service by means of switching to Donegal exchange when Mountcharles is closed and it will be possible to accommodate several more similarly in a couple of months' time when additional trunk circuits are provided between Donegal and Mountcharles.
