Vol. 240 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cost of Legal Advice.

16.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he has yet obtained the cost of legal advice which was obtained recently for Dublin City Council in relation to the constitutionality of his order to strike a rate for the City of Dublin.

I understand that the local authority have not yet been informed of the amount of the cost involved.

When will the Corporation be in a position to make known to the ratepayers the cost of the Labour Party gimmick so that the ratepayers will be able to assess what it will cost them?

It is not expected that the amount of the impost on the ratepayers will be known for some time but it will, as was intended, fall on the ratepayers.

(Cavan): Tell us the cost of the referendum to the ratepayers.

Would the Minister tell us the cost of the referendum?

Stick to the question, Deputy.
