The introduction of a special grants scheme for the purpose referred to is not contemplated. It is possible that all weather playing pitches might qualify for assistance under the amenity grants scheme administered by my Department provided the pitches are part of a general scheme of amenity development and the general conditions of the scheme are complied with. It must, however, be appreciated that the funds available to service the scheme are limited and that any application received would have to be considered on its merits having regard to the financial position at the particular time and the competing demands of other schemes.
