Vol. 240 No. 7

Committee on Finance. - Shipping Investment Grants Bill, 1968: Committee and Final Stages.

Question proposed: "That section 1 stand part of the Bill."

Is there any likelihood under section 1 that the Revenue Commissioners come into the definition of capital expenditure as well?

You could have two different definitions then, one being the Minister for Transport and Power and one being the Revenue Commissioners, and two different balance sheets going side by side.

In the regulations that we have to write out in respect of these grants I do not think it would be likely that there would be any difficulties in that connection.

It would depend on whose was going to be the more liberal opinion.

Question put and agreed to.
SECTION 2.
Question proposed: "That section 2 stand part of the Bill."

Is there a tabling provision—I do not think there is— to table reports of what grants the Minister gives? Will they be given in the Book of Estimates?

They will be in the Book of Estimates.

Fair enough.

Question put and agreed to.
