Income tax repaid to taxpayers in respect of medical expenses relief under the provisions of section 12 of the Finance Act, 1967, amounted to £51,325 in the year ended on the 31st March, 1969. Repayments were made in 1,529 cases. The repayments related to expenditure for the first year of the scheme, viz. 1967-68.
