68.

asked the Minister for Finance the number of (a) labourers, (b) drivers and (c) supervisory workers employed under the Office of Public Works in each county, together with rates of wages and hours of work in the form of a reply/Question No. 50/of 4th May, 1965, indicating also the drainage schemes to which an incentive bonus applies.

69.

asked the Minister for Finance the grades and wages of workers employed on arterial drainage schemes in April, 1969.

It is proposed to take Questions Nos. 68 and 69 together.

These rates are exclusive of incentive bonus which operates on the Moy, Corrib-Headford, Owenavarragh and Carrigahorig Schemes. The normal working week is 42½ hours. Tradesmen and boy labourers work a 40 hour week. Watchmen work varying hours. Regular overtime, five hours a week, is worked in the summer period on construction works.
