Vol. 240 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Revenue and Court Stamps.

21.

(Cavan) asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if any regulation exists regarding the stocking of revenue and court stamps in certain post offices; if so, when this regulation was made; what stock of these stamps the post offices are allowed to carry; and if he will consider revising the amount in view of the steep increase in Court, Probate, Land Registry fees, etc., in recent years.

The stamps in question are stocked at those post offices where there is a demand locally. The levels of stocks vary from office to office and are revised in accordance with changes in demand. Substantial increases in stocks have been made at a number of offices durin the past 12 months. If the Deputy has any particular difficulty in mind I shall have inquiries made if he will let me have details.
