(Dublin South-Central) asked the Minister for Local Government the amount of money collected from driving test fees since the tests became compulsory.

The amount lodged in respect of fees under the Road Traffic (Licensing of Drivers) Regulations, 1964, is £183,100. Of this, it is estimated that £178,400 is in respect of driving test fees and £4,700 in respect of fees for certificates of fitness.
