Vol. 241 No. 5

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - National Road Authority.

23.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he has considered the feasibility of setting up a national road authority to develop and maintain the main roads of the country.

Studies bearing on this subject have been made by and on behalf of An Foras Forbartha. Reports made as a result of these studies include recommendations to the effect that responsibility for the more important sectors of the main road system should be transferred to the State. The recommendations are under consideration.
