asked the Minister for Education the number of national school classes in Dublin and Dún Laoghaire at February, 1969, with more than 40 pupils.

The number of classes with more than 40 pupils in Dublin and in Dún Laoghaire at February, 1969, was 1,621 and 115, respectively.

asked the Minister for Education the total number of primary schools; and the number of schools with an average of (a) 30 or under (b) between 30 and 40 and (c) 40 or more pupils per class.

The total number of national schools in 1968-69 was 4,393 of which 2,758 had an average of 30 or under per class, 1,151 between 31 and 40 per class and 484 had an average of more than 40 pupils per class.
