Vol. 241 No. 6

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - County Donegal Schools.

133.

asked the Minister for Education what progress has been made in regard to the erection of a school at Bridgend, County Donegal.

Sketch plans for a new six-room central school at Bridgend have been prepared. A grant towards the cost of erecting the new school will be sanctioned when satisfactory evidence of title to the site is furnished and agreement is reached with the Reverend Manager as to the local contribution.

134.

asked the Minister for Education if he is aware of the present source of water which supplies the Catholic national school at Newtown-cunningham, County Donegal; if he is satisfied with the present arrangement; and, if not, what steps he proposes to take in the matter.

I would refer the Deputy to the reply given to his question on this matter on 21st May last.

I have no evidence that the supply of water to service the toilet system in the school is other than satisfactory and adequate. I have asked the Commissioners of Public Works for a report, however, as to the supply of drinking water at the school.
