Vol. 241 No. 6

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Fermoy (Cork) Industry.

68.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if the genuine claim of Fermoy town, County Cork, for an industry that will employ male labour is receiving the required active consideration from the Industrial Development Authority; and if he will give the up-to-date position in this regard.

I would refer the Deputy to my replies to similar questions by him on 6th June, 1968 and 28th November, 1968. One new industry and one expansion to an existing industry commenced production in the Fermoy area in the year ended 30th June, 1969.

The Deputy may rest assured that any sound proposal for the establishment of additional industries in the area will receive every assistance and encouragement from the Industrial Development Authority.
