Vol. 241 No. 6

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - House Prices.

77.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will set up a prices advisory committee to investigate recent increases in house prices.

I do not think that, within the powers available to me under the Prices Acts, the establishment of a Prices Advisory Committee would enable anything more to be done than is now being done through departmental investigation. I have no plans at present to appoint such a committee but I will continue to have all complaints about price increases investigated fully.
