The Third Programme was put before the House in March, 1969, but as I had previously announced on 22nd January, 1969, Córas Tráchtála have introduced a programme of new incentives aimed at stimulating and assisting a more rapid expansion of exports to markets other than Britain. Córas Tráchtála are very pleased with the reaction of Irish exporters to these new incentives and the number of inquiries regarding markets other than Britain, in particular France and Germany, has increased substantially. Because of the necessary time-lag between the first approach of an exporter to a particular market and the commencement of sales there, it is too soon yet to attempt to quantify the results of these efforts.
