Vol. 241 No. 6

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Holding.

103.

asked the Minister for Lands why the final letting of the Devane holding by the Land Commission at Killeenagh, Annascaul, County Kerry was not advertised and offered in public to enable the local interested people to have a chance to bid for it; and the reason for the private letting of the lands.

I understand that this 32 acre holding was put up for letting in two divisions by public auction in February last.

Lot 1 was disposed of at the auction but a dispute arose between the only two bidders for lot 2. The auctioneer then withdrew this lot but subsequently let it in two separate sections to the parties to the dispute.
