With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 4 and 5 together and to circulate in the Official Report a statement showing the quantity, value and country of origin of vitreous enamelled domestic hollow-ware imported in each year 1966 to 1968. The official import list on which the statistics are based does not provide separate headings for any other items of enamelware.
Following is the statement:—

Does the Parliamentary Secretary consider from the figures available to him which I have yet to see in the tabular statement, that the volume of goods from the countries referred to are such as to constitute a serious threat to the trade and industry directly concerned in this country?
There is another question on the Order Paper dealing with that particular matter.
I am aware of that.
The Deputy might wait until that question comes up.
I took the two together, Sir.
I am referring to Question No. 70 to the Minister for Industry and Commerce.
The amount which we spent on imports of this commodity last year from China was the sum of £43 and I do not think that would have a very serious effect on our trade.
Could the Parliamentary Secretary give the total?
The total amount imported last year was £31,000 worth. There was none imported from Cuba.
