Vol. 241 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sallynoggin (Dublin) Schools.

103.

asked the Minister for Education if he is now in a position to announce the outcome of the meeting of the Dublin Advisory Council for post primary education held on 27th March 1969 concerning the new schools to be built at Sallynoggin; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Following meetings of the Dublin Advisory Council on 27th March and subsequent dates my Department accepted the recommendations of the council in relation to the provision of post-primary school accommodation in the Sallynoggin area. It is proposed accordingly that the existing vocational school should be considerably extended to cater for 400 boys and that a new girls' secondary school with accommodation for 800 pupils be erected. It is the intention that both of these schools will be run on comprehensive lines.
