Vol. 241 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Reunification of Country.

2.

asked the Taoiseach whether or not be proposes to continue the dissemination of anti-Partition propaganda.

3.

asked the Taoiseach if, in view of his welcome statement ruling out any question of attempting to coerce the Protestants of Northern Ireland, he will state what plans he now has for allaying fears of the population in question, and for encouraging better relations between Catholics and Protestants in the island of Ireland.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 2 and 3 together.

I indicated last week in the course of the Adjournment debate the outlines of the Government's policy on the reunification of the country. I have nothing to add at this stage.

Arising out of the Taoiseach's reply or rather his nonreply, will he tell us whether he agrees that the exploitation of sectarian animosity in this country is damaging the prospects of reunification of the country?

I would agree.
