Vol. 241 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dún Laoghaire Hotel.

65.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power whether he has received any intimation from Óstlanna Iompair Éireann Teo as to revised plans for a hotel to be located in Dún Laoghaire; and, if not, if he will ensure that such new plans are forthcoming in the interests of the future of the local community.

An application by Óstlanna Iompair Éireann Teo. to Dún Laoghaire Corporation for permission to build an hotel in Dún Laoghaire was refused last year. The corporation's decision was upheld by the Minister for Local Government.

I am informed by the company that as a result they are examining the numerous alternatives open to them including possible alternative designs and sizes of hotel on the same site. They expect to reach a conclusion in the matter in the next few months.
