Vol. 241 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Leaving Certificate Examination.

101.

asked the Minister for Education whether he will arrange that the proposal to allow the awarding of a leaving certificate on an aggregation of successes in separate examinations will become operative immediately.

The Deputy will appreciate that this arrangement will apply only to whole-time students who have already sat the leaving certificate examination and failed to qualify for the award of the certificate or to persons who have left whole-time education. It will become effective from 1971 and this will give the persons concerned the necessary opportunity for study.
