asked the Minister for Health if he will give information on proposals received from local authorities from 1st April, 1969, to date and his decision on those proposals affecting wages and conditions of employment of non-nursing personnel.

Further increase of 7/6d. per week with effect from 1st April, 1969, sanctioned on 25th July, 1969. Balance of the increase proposed now covered by letter of general sanction issued on 31st October, 1969, referred to below.

In addition to the above, a number of proposals have been received from county councils to apply increases to roadworkers in accordance with recommendations agreed on 16th October, 1969, between the Public Services Committee of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions and the County and City Managers' Association on the basis of Statement on Pay in the Public Service issued by the Government Information Bureau on 29th May, 1969 on behalf of the Minister for Finance. I informed all County Managers by letter dated 31st October, 1969, that where local authorities decided to implement the terms of the Agreement my sanction to the payment of increases could be assumed.
