Vol. 242 No. 4

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Special Employment Office.

25.

asked the Minister for Local Government the annual allocation from the Special Employment Office to each local authority under minor employment, bog development and rural improvements schemes over the past five years.

Grants under these schemes were not made to local authorities, but were administered direct by the Special Employment Schemes Office. Information as to the geographical distribution of these grants in the period specified prior to 31st March, 1968, is set out in my reply to Question No. 40 of 31st October, 1968. From 1st April, 1968, these schemes were replaced by the local improvements scheme which is administered by the county councils.
