Vol. 242 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Mayo Road Repairs.

45.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware of the urgent need for repairs to roads at Rappa, Knockanilawn, Ballina, County Mayo; and what steps he proposes to take to remedy this situation.

I understand that the roads referred to are not public roads, and therefore it is under the local improvements scheme that a local authority scheme in relation to them would arise. Local authorities have been given the maximum of discretion in the operation of the local improvements scheme and it is to them that any representations should be addressed.
