Vol. 242 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Road Improvements.

10.

asked the Minister for Local Government what proposals are recommended to his Department for the widening of the North Dublin Road including the Santry by-pass to Turvey.

As regards this route generally, I have approved of schemes for a by-pass of Balrothery and for improvements to the section between Batter Lane and Balrothery all of which are estimated to cost a total of £441,403. There are no further proposals for the improvement of the County Dublin section of T.1 before me at present but I am aware that Dublin County Council are preparing schemes of improvement for other sections of this road, including by-passes at Santry and Swords.

11.

asked the Minister for Local Government when the promised reconstruction of Jamestown Road, Finglas, Dublin, is likely to commence; and whether he is aware of the extreme urgency of this matter.

I have no information as to when this work will commence. In May last my Department approved of the acceptance of a tender for the work. Further action is a matter for the corporation.
